Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews and assessments with clients, accurately documenting each step from initial consultation to conclusion of treatment.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health to formulate personalized treatment plans that address specific needs.
\n
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized intervention and recovery plans for diverse populations including individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging and effective individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing appropriate therapeutic techniques and interventions to foster a supportive environment.
\n
• Continuously assess and monitor client progress throughout the treatment process, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
\n
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals—including physicians, nurses, and social workers—to ensure comprehensive care and effective interventions.
\n
• Maintain ongoing communication with psychiatrists and other attending physicians regarding clients who may require hospitalization or additional medical support.

• Identify and address potential barriers to recovery, implementing preventive measures tailored to each client’s specific circumstances.

• Support family members and primary caregivers in managing the mental health challenges their loved ones face, fostering a team-oriented approach to care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor will involve engaging a wide range of clients, including those dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and relationship issues. You will utilize evidence-based practices to foster open communication, understanding, and healing. Given the focus on remote counseling, you will need to adapt therapeutic techniques to fit a virtual environment, ensuring clients feel safe and supported as they navigate their mental health challenges.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW within the state of Illinois.

• A successful score on national exams such as the NCE or NCMHCE.
\n
• A solid foundation of previous experience working as a mental health counselor with demonstrable clinical skills.

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR or similar platforms, ensuring efficient case documentation and management.

• A deep understanding of physical and emotional health conditions, coupled with experience in addiction disorders.
\n
• Knowledge of, and adherence to, the American Mental Health Counselors Association’s best practices.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interaction with clients and interdisciplinary teams.

• Exceptional empathy and interpersonal skills, creating a warm and inviting therapeutic space for clients.

Preferred Experience\n

Compensation and Benefits\n

The compensation for this role will range from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, with a potential sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.
