The Queer Self Care Mental Therapy Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Trauma-Focused Mental Health Counselor to join our compassionate team in this full-time remote position. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health evaluations to assess patient histories and formulate appropriate treatment plans.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment programs that center on trauma recovery and resilience building, employing evidence-based therapeutic techniques.

• Utilize practices such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) during sessions.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at encouraging patients to process trauma, cultivate coping strategies, and foster their recovery journeys.

• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention for patients experiencing trauma-related emergencies.

• Educate patients and family members on trauma responses and effective coping mechanisms.

• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation to comply with legal and ethical standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with a diverse range of individuals from the LGBTQ+ community who seek help for trauma-related mental health challenges. Qualifications\n

• A master's or doctorate degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, or psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current, valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or psychologist in the state of Texas.

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is encouraged but not mandatory.

• Thorough understanding of trauma-related disorders, trauma-informed therapeutic interventions, and strategies for building resilience.

• Proven track record in providing trauma-focused therapy and interventions.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate and nonjudgmental approach.

• The ability to remain calm and effectively support patients during high-stress circumstances.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems and basic computer applications.
\n
• A collaborative attitude conducive to working within a multidisciplinary environment.
