Client Development Analyst – Consumer Practice Spencer Stuart seeks a Client Development Analyst (CDA) based in New York City or Chicago to support the Consumer Practice. The Analyst will work closely with members of the Client Development Team (CDT) and consultants within the practice, as well as colleagues across other Industry and Functional Practices as needed. Key Responsibilities Support the creation of business development content and insights for pitches, relationship building, and strategic account planning. Develop bespoke capabilities documents such as qualification packs (quals) and “get smart” packages that move beyond canned content to provide deep insights into potential clients. Synthesize research findings into client‑ready presentations, decks, and other materials. Assist in developing tailored pitch decks and client‑facing business development materials based on a solid understanding of the client’s industry and value proposition. Conduct research and analysis, and coordinate with consultants and the client development team to deliver talent insights and market trends at all stages of prospecting. Manage the practice’s knowledge infrastructure and content libraries, maintaining tools and systems to centralize and organize business‑development materials. Share learnings from pitches and initiatives to refine processes and improve pitch effectiveness. Respond to content queries from consultants and teams, delivering resources that prepare them for success. Support the creation of intellectual capital and leadership thought pieces, using quantitative and qualitative data to build talent insights and market trends. Monitor and track market developments, competitive intelligence, company updates, and executive transitions to support proactive business development. Ideal Experience & Qualifications Recent college graduate or 1‑3 years of work experience in a corporate research, marketing, management consulting, executive search, or market research role. A 4‑year bachelor’s degree is required. Strong client‑service skills and the ability to manage multiple projects toward tight timelines. Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and the ability to create client‑ready presentations in PowerPoint. Advanced research, analysis, and synthesis skills, with experience driving research projects to completion. Experience collecting and organizing information from databases and internet resources; familiarity with Capital IQ, LinkedIn, BoardEx, Quest, D&B Hoovers, etc. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. In possession of permanent U.S. work authorization. Self‑directed, collaborative, highly organized, detail‑oriented with strong project‑management skills. Comfortable with ambiguity, graceful under pressure, and able to multitask in fast‑paced environments. A genuine interest in building relationships and collaborating within a global team. Key Requirements Self‑directed and able to manage own efforts in support of new business‑development and search‑assignment initiatives. Strong analytical skills to synthesize research and deliver succinct, accurate insights. Effective stakeholder management: build relationships with colleagues and partners, communicate clearly, and maintain discretion. Compensation & Benefits Base salary: $80,000 per year (actual base compensation will depend on skills, experience, and qualifications). Eligibility for the annual discretionary bonus program.
