Make a difference in the lives of high school students by helping them unlock their potential in both academic achievement and personal growth. This contract opportunity for a Special Education Teacher spans the 2026-2027 school year and is located onsite near Aurora, CO. You’ll focus on students in grades 9-12, with a particular emphasis on supporting math success and comprehensive case management.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid CO CDE teaching certificate required
- Experience in special education, with demonstrated expertise in math instruction
- Previous work as a SPED case manager or teacher preferred
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and track progress
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction, primarily in mathematics
- Manage a caseload of high school students, ensuring appropriate accommodations and modifications
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, service providers, and families to support student outcomes
- Maintain student records and documentation accurately and punctually
- Participate in professional development and school meetings as required
