Accounting Clerk

Accounting ClerkWe are seeking a detailed-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, researching discrepancies, and supporting daily cash management activities.Post daily customer deposits and payment accuratelyReconcile customer accounts and investigate payment discrepanciesPerform collection activities including contacting customers regarding outstanding balances, short payments, and billing issuesCollaborate with internal departments to resolve customer concerns and account issuesMonitor accounts receivable aging report and follow up on overdue customer balancesProcess vendor invoices and ensure accurate and timely posting into accounting systemPerform 3-way matching of purchase orders, receiving documents, and vendor invoicesResearch and resolve invoices, pricing, quantity discrepanciesCommunicate with vendors regarding invoice status payment inquiries, pricing differences, and account discrepanciesMaintain vendor recordsSupport continuous improvement of AP and AR processesProvide support for audits, reporting, and special accounting projectsOther tasks as assignedMonitor and maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable email inboxes, ensuring customer and vendor inquiries are addressed promptly and routed appropriatelyHigh school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting or finance preferred3 years of experience in an accounting related positionBasic knowledge of accounting principles and proceduresExperience with ERP/financial systems (JD Edwards +) and Microsoft Excel preferredAbility to handle confidential information with discretionAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environmentStrong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a deadline-driven environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience with high-volume invoice processingStrong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making abilities
