Work Environment\n

This position is fully remote, enabling you to engage with clients from the comfort of your home while maintaining access to our outpatient office resources. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing our counselors to maintain a balanced work-life integration.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients, identifying specific emotional and psychological needs.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on emotional challenges arising from aging and significant life events, such as loss of loved ones or changes in independence.

• Work in collaboration with healthcare professionals to formulate tailored, comprehensive care plans that address each client's unique circumstances.

• Provide education to families and staff regarding emotional health strategies that enhance the quality of life for elderly individuals.

• Lead grief counseling sessions for residents and family members navigating end-of-life challenges and related stressors.

• Design and implement cognitive stimulation programs and other mental health interventions aimed at preserving and improving cognitive function in seniors.

This role primarily focuses on the elderly population, including seniors navigating complex life transitions, experiencing loss, or dealing with age-related mental health challenges. The counselor will engage with clients who are often vulnerable and require a sensitive, culturally aware approach to care. Understanding the unique backgrounds and histories of elderly clients is essential to providing effective treatment and fostering trust.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution is required

• Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) designation in Massachusetts

• Minimum of 4 years of recent, relevant experience in geriatric mental health counseling

Compensation and Benefits\n
