Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct regular individual and group therapy sessions tailored to the unique needs of each client using evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Informed Care.

• Administer comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessments to identify clients’ strengths and challenges, forming the foundation for effective treatment planning.
\n
• Facilitate coping and social skills training, anger management, and strategies to mitigate risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) or physical aggression.
\n
• Empower clients to enhance decision-making skills, particularly for youth and caretakers, to effectively manage in-home behavioral challenges.
\n
• Collaborate consistently with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive support for clients and their families.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, in accordance with organizational policies.
\n
• Participate in monthly staff meetings, discuss complex cases, and contribute insights to improve therapeutic approaches.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily serves adults dealing with a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral disorders. We value the unique backgrounds and experiences of our clients, recognizing that a one-size-fits-all approach does not apply in mental health treatment. Therapists will engage with diverse individuals, ensuring that services are culturally relevant and tailored to meet varied needs.

Qualifications\n

• A master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• Applicants must hold a current license (LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT) to practice in New York State.

• Clinical training in mental health therapy; candidates should possess a strong foundation in therapeutic methodologies.
\n
• Post-internship experience in providing therapeutic support to adults with diverse mental health needs.
\n
• Familiarity with the DSM–5 for assessments and diagnoses is essential.
\n
• Ability to develop treatment planning, set treatment goals, and create detailed progress notes is critical.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in conducting Crisis Intervention Training is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of and experience with various therapeutic approaches, such as Gestalt therapy and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), is beneficial.

• Prior experience in providing positive behavior support and evidence of professional development through workshops or further education.
