Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial assessments of new patients to accurately diagnose mental or emotional disorders, ensuring personalized and effective treatment strategies.

• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that incorporate therapeutic techniques and coping strategies to aid in emotional regulation and recovery.

• Regularly meet with patients to listen to their concerns and provide encouragement while monitoring their progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.

• Deliver evidence-based education to both staff and patients about stress management and trauma coping mechanisms to enhance the support network around each individual.

• Serve as a resource for patients, equipping them with the tools and information necessary to pursue and meet their personal goals.

• Collaborate with social services, medical agencies, and community outreach programs to ensure patients receive holistic support and resources.

• Stay updated with the latest methodologies in mental health care by completing continuing education courses, maintaining your National Certified Counselor certification.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with individuals battling the effects of trauma, including those who may have experienced significant psychological stress. This role calls for a deep understanding of trauma-informed care, allowing you to build trust and rapport with patients effectively, enabling them to feel safe and understood while they navigate their healing process.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling or a closely related field is required.

• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential is necessary to practice in New York.

• At least three years of experience working with trauma patients is essential for this role.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is expected, and familiarity with Salesforce and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems is highly desirable.

• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively connect with patients, families, and the clinical team.

Compensation and Benefits\n
