Orthopedic Physical Therapist - Full-Time

Position Overview

The Nealy Fitness Rehab Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthopedic Physical Therapist to join our team on a full-time basis. This role requires an individual who is passionate about enhancing patient lives through tailored rehabilitation approaches. As an onsite therapist working in a home care setting, you will play an essential part in our patients' recovery journey by implementing specialized physical therapy programs designed to improve mobility and restore function.

Work Environment

Located in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, our home care facility promotes a collaborative and dynamic environment where our staff is dedicated to high-quality patient care. The Physical Therapist will work directly in patients' homes, which allows for a unique opportunity to assess and adapt treatment plans based on real-world environments. The standard work schedule is Mondays through Fridays, ensuring a balanced work-life dynamic, while maintaining a commitment to providing excellent service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and provide comprehensive physical therapy treatment focused on preventing disability, alleviating pain, and ensuring the development and restoration of muscle function.
• Oversee Physical Therapy Assistants to guarantee the effective implementation of therapy plans and techniques.
• Conduct evaluations of clients' physical capabilities utilizing diagnostic assessments and creating personalized rehabilitation plans that meet individual needs.
• Assess home environments for obstacles to rehabilitation and recommend modifications aimed at increasing client independence and safety.
• Deliver therapeutic exercises in patients' homes as prescribed by their healthcare providers, supporting both manual and non-manual therapy activities.
• Administer various modalities such as traction and massage, evaluating their effectiveness in conjunction with the therapy program.
• Engage in the fitting of prosthetic and orthotic devices, providing recommendations for adjustments to enhance mobility.
• Document and update clinical records, including evaluations, care plans, progress notes, as well as discharge summaries, ensuring timely submissions in accordance with agency standards.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, participating in case conferences and strategy sessions to optimize overall treatment plans for each client.
• Provide education and support to clients and their families, ensuring they understand physical therapy devices and programs, promoting self-management and compliance.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants in their service delivery, ensuring quality care while meeting state regulatory requirements.
• Remain accessible and available to assist Physical Therapy Assistants during client interactions, ensuring seamless delivery of care.
• Complete additional tasks as needed to further the company's commitment to patient care excellence.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus includes patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and various musculoskeletal conditions. By understanding each individual's unique challenges, you will tailor therapeutic interventions that foster recovery and enhance quality of life. You will engage with patients from diverse backgrounds, emphasizing a patient-centered approach that values collaboration, empathy, and respect.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited physical therapy program.
• Current Physical Therapy licensure in New Jersey in good standing.
• Current CPR certification.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance, for travel to patient homes.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of one year of experience in a physical therapy setting, preferably in home care or acute care environments.
• A demonstrated history of providing exceptional patient care with a focus on quality and clinical excellence.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills that promote effective engagement with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 100,000 to 120,000 annually, depending on experience.
