Work Environment

This position is entirely remote, allowing you to create a working environment that best suits your needs. You will operate from the comfort of your own home while engaging clients via a secure video platform designed for therapy sessions. The outpatient setting emphasizes immediate and effective care, ensuring that our therapists are readily accessible to clients needing mental health support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual counseling sessions via video chat to improve clients' mental health and well-being.
• Facilitate discussions around emotions and personal experiences, guiding clients toward greater self-awareness and understanding of their relationships.
• Act as an advocate for your clients, helping them define achievable goals and implementing actionable strategies to meet those goals.
• Assess clients’ mental health conditions systematically and develop tailored treatment plans that utilize your expertise in solution-based approaches.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions, treatment plans, and outcomes, ensuring compliance with established guidelines and ethical standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your clientele will consist exclusively of screened, stable adults with lower acuity needs. Kessler Counseling Center matches therapists with clients based on their specialties and demographic preferences, ensuring a suitable fit for meaningful therapeutic relationships. This focus on stable clients allows you to concentrate on strengths-based measures that promote progress without the challenges of severe mental health conditions.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology.
• Current and valid licensure in New York State as a fully licensed practitioner in good standing without supervision, specifically: LMFT, LMHC, or LCSW.
• No limited or provisional licenses accepted; candidates must be free of disciplinary actions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a compassionate demeanor suited for therapeutic work.
• Proficient in computer skills, with the ability to effectively navigate virtual counseling platforms.

Preferred Experience

While the primary requirement is major licensure, additional experience in outpatient counseling, solution-focused therapy, and familiarity with telehealth practices can greatly enhance your effectiveness in this role. Previous experience working with adult clients in a virtual setting is preferred, as it will streamline your transition into our practice.

Compensation and Benefits

• A competitive salary range of $90,000 to $104,000 per year, dependent on experience and the number of hours worked.
