Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial assessments and evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health to establish accurate treatment plans.

• Develop and implement holistic intervention strategies for clients, tailoring approaches to individuals, couples, and families to foster improved mental well-being.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that promote healing and personal growth, utilizing evidence-based practices.

• Monitor and document clients' progress throughout the treatment journey, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure continuity of care.

• Collaborate effectively with team members to create coordinated care plans, facilitating supportive linkages to other healthcare providers as needed.

• Provide regular follow-ups with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients who require additional medical support during hospital stays.

• Assist clients and their families in recognizing and addressing maladaptive behaviors that may hinder recovery, empowering them with tools to manage these challenges.

• Guide family members and caregivers in understanding mental health disorders and developing strategies to better support their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position primarily focuses on serving adults experiencing a range of mental health challenges, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, and trauma-related disorders. Counselors will facilitate recovery-oriented interventions, fostering resilience and helping clients achieve their treatment goals.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, LCSW in New Jersey.
\n
• Successful completion of the National Counseling Exam (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, compassion, and a genuine desire to help others improve their mental health.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working as a mental health counselor in diverse settings.

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems such as AVATAR, ensuring accurate record-keeping.

• Knowledge and experience related to addiction disorders and co-occurring physical and mental health conditions.

• Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• A thorough understanding of the pharmacological impacts of medications prescribed by various medical specialists.
