Accounts Receivable Coordinator

Job DescriptionFTS is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Coordinator to process incoming payments, maintain accurate financial records, and respond to billing and payment inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Process and apply cash, check, credit card, online, and wire payments to the correct accounts and invoices.
- Review, verify, and batch incoming payments.
- Maintain daily cash receipt records and correct discrepancies to meet accounting deadlines.
- Research unidentified payments and apply them to the appropriate account.
- Prepare bank deposits according to established procedures.
- Resolve payment issues, including returned checks, refunds, and declined credit cards.
- Respond professionally to billing and payment inquiries by phone and email.
- Reconcile payment records with event and registration reports.
- Follow internal controls and maintain confidential financial information.
- Assist with other accounting tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Accounts receivable and cash applications experience.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
- Experience with accurate, high-volume data entry.
- Experience processing payments in an automated system.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Nonprofit experience.
- Experience with netFORUM or another association management system.
