Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial assessments to document clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health and prepare case histories for future reference.

• Evaluate and diagnose clients' mental health needs, applying evidence-based methodologies.
\n
• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans for various client units including individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate effective individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing therapeutic modalities that resonate with clients.

• Regularly monitor client progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans, demonstrating accountability and adaptability in care.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, which may include psychiatrists, physicians, and social workers, to create coherent intervention strategies.

• Provide aftercare coordination for clients transitioning from hospitals, ensuring continuity of care as needed.

• Support families and caregivers in understanding mental health challenges, enhancing their capacity to foster recovery at home.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The ideal candidate will engage with a diverse client base while addressing various mental health issues, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, and addiction. The center is particularly focused on serving the unique demographic of North Las Vegas, striving to promote resilience and recovery amongst our clients through culturally competent and inclusive care.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
\n
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Nevada.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Strong proficiency in electronic health record systems such as AVATAR.
\n
• Thorough knowledge of contemporary psychotherapeutic practices and American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices.
\n
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage clients compassionately and effectively.
\n
• Understanding of the impact of physical health issues and recovery processes on mental health.
\n
• A deep knowledge of psychotropic medications and their effects, as prescribed by medical professionals.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a mental health counselor, indicating strong foundations in clinical practice.

• Demonstrated understanding of addiction disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
\n
• Experience in leading group therapy sessions and a solid grasp of therapeutic techniques.
\n
• Previous involvement with a multidisciplinary or team-based approach to care is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits\n
