Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews to assess clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health, ensuring comprehensive records from the initial consultation through the conclusion of treatment.

• Utilize clinical expertise to evaluate clients' needs and appropriately develop individualized intervention and recovery plans that may include innovative therapeutic techniques.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, adapting approaches to best meet the needs of diverse populations.

• Regularly monitor and document client progress throughout the treatment process, adjusting plans as necessary based on therapeutic outcomes.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes other mental health professionals, physicians, and social workers to create integrated intervention plans.

• Coordinate with external health care providers, such as psychiatrists, to ensure holistic care for clients who may require medication management.

• Identify and mitigate any behavioral challenges that may interfere with patients' recovery while supporting family members in managing their loved ones' mental health needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will work with a varied client demographic, including adults, couples, and families navigating a range of mental health issues. Our clientele often face challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and life transitions. Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Maryland is essential.

• A passing score on either the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) is mandatory.

• Demonstrated experience in providing mental health counseling with a solid foundation in various therapeutic techniques.

• Proficiency in using electronic health records systems such as AVATAR to manage documentation efficiently and maintain compliance.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working with clients presenting with both emotional and physical health conditions, as well as substance use disorders.

• Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• In-depth understanding of psychotropic medications and their effects as prescribed by healthcare providers.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate effective interactions with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
