Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a difference in the lives of students as a dedicated school-based Occupational Therapist working on a contract basis in the greater Washington, DC area, just 45 minutes south of the city. This exciting opportunity offers you a part-time schedule, with exact hours and workdays to be determined according to the needs of the school year running from early August to late May. Your skills will help shape a supportive educational environment, serving a to-be-determined number of campuses and a diverse, developing caseload.

Your expertise as a licensed Occupational Therapist is vital in supporting students’ growth, independence, and academic access. This is a fully onsite role—teletherapy and hybrid options are not being considered for this position.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active Occupational Therapist license in Virginia required
• Previous experience in school settings and working with children or young adults strongly preferred
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment as caseload and schedules are finalized
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Must begin the Virginia Department of Social Services background check process immediately upon acceptance
• Current TB test per VA state requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver occupational therapy services within an educational environment
• Work collaboratively with educators, administrators, and families to support students’ unique needs
• Conduct student assessments and create individualized intervention plans
• Implement therapeutic activities directly with students, adjusting strategies as needed
• Maintain accurate records and participate in team meetings
