Accounts Payable Specialist

Accounts Payable Specialist LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support high-volume invoice processing and ensure timely and accurate payment of obligations. This role works cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to maintain strong financial controls and support overall accounting operations. This position is temp to hire and will pay between $24 and $28/hr. Job Duties Process a high volume of invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and timely entry into the accounting system Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receipts to verify completeness and accuracy Review and reconcile vendor statements, investigating and resolving discrepancies or missing documentation Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve payment issues and respond to inquiries Maintain vendor records, including onboarding new vendors and verifying required documentation Prepare and process weekly payment runs (check, ACH, or wire), ensuring proper approvals are obtained Monitor shared AP inbox and prioritize urgent items for resolution Reconcile accounts payable and assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and reporting Support audit requests, including providing documentation and schedules as needed Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen internal controls, and increase efficiency Assist with additional accounting tasks and special projects as assigned Qualifications 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes Experience working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software or ERP systems Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred If you are interested in learning more, please apply now.
