Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments that identify emotional, social, and environmental strengths and challenges faced by patients and their families.

• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment and discharge plans utilizing various social work interventions in collaboration with the healthcare team.

• Facilitate effective discharge planning by coordinating with physicians, insurers, and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate support following patients' detoxification.

• Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about coping strategies for managing health conditions, fostering a better understanding of treatment processes and post-discharge needs.
\n
• Employ crisis intervention strategies as necessary, balancing immediate support with longer-term therapeutic approaches, including individual, group, and family therapies.
\n
• Serve as a mentor and resource for other healthcare professionals, sharing knowledge on psychosocial issues and best practices in patient care.
\n
• Participate in on-call rotations, addressing after-hours calls to support patients and their families when urgent issues arise.
\n
• If needed, facilitate involuntary examinations under the Baker Act, ensuring that all actions comply with legal requirements and prioritize patient safety.

• Present educational content at conferences, sharing expertise on psychosocial oncology and promoting awareness within the community.

• Contribute to community efforts by engaging in outreach, consultation, and volunteering to enhance available resources for cancer survivors and families.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your role as a LICSW will primarily involve working with individuals undergoing detoxification and those dealing with co-occurring mental health disorders. This includes evaluating and addressing emotional and psychological needs, providing targeted support for patients struggling with addiction, and ensuring comprehensive follow-up care plans are in place post-treatment.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required; a Master’s Degree is preferred.

• An active LICSW license to practice in Washington State.
\n
• Proven experience in a clinical setting, particularly with substance abuse or mental health cases is strongly preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to assess and navigate complex psychosocial issues within a healthcare context.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effective interaction with patients and multidisciplinary teams.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
