About the Position

Job Title: Stepdown RN Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Weekend Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7a-7:30p) Experience: 1 year License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: Cardiac experience preferred. Ability to titrate drips. Experience with common titratable and set rate drips including heparin, insulin, nitroglycerin, Cardizem, nicardipine, Lasix, amiodarone, and dobutamine. Description: The unit has a total of 32 beds, consisting of 22 stepdown beds and 10 floor beds. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:3 for stepdown and 1:5 or 1:6 for floor beds. Dedicated charge nurse is available for each shift. Clinical associates support the nursing staff. Respiratory therapy equipment such as NC, CPAP, BiPAP, and HFNC is available. Telephone monitoring is conducted by tele techs; nurses are not required to read their own strips. Self-scheduling is allowed and block scheduling can be accommodated. Weekend requirements include 3 to 4 Saturday and Sunday shifts, along with 2 Fridays and 2 Mondays in a 4-week schedule. Holiday shifts consist of one eve and one day. There is no call or standby requirement. Travelers may float to other units as needed. Royal blue scrubs are required. Specific unit orientation is provided.
