Work Environment\n

The position is primarily remote, with opportunities for in-person engagements and team collaboration in our outpatient facility when needed. You will follow a structured Monday to Friday schedule, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts depending on patient needs. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments specifically designed for the elderly population, considering their unique psychological, cognitive, and social needs.

• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and family therapy sessions, to address a range of geriatric psychiatric conditions.

• Collaborate with geriatric psychiatrists and other multidisciplinary professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care and treatment.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies involving elderly patients, ensuring their safety and well-being.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and resources available in the community to enhance their understanding and involvement in care.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation to comply with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of your work will be the geriatric population, addressing and managing a range of mental health disorders that are prevalent in older adults. Your expertise will play a critical role in developing targeted strategies to alleviate symptoms of depression, anxiety, cognitive decline, and adapt to life transitions, thereby improving overall life satisfaction for your patients.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California.

• A minimum of two (2) years of post-licensure experience in mental health therapy, preferably within the geriatric sector.

• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of various geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.

• Proven experience delivering individual and family therapy to older adults.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with a patient-centered approach that emphasizes empathy and rapport-building with patients and their families.
