Support a visually impaired student's educational journey as a dedicated assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. Participate in a full-time, contract position designed for those passionate about academic inclusion. This role is ideal for individuals with hands-on experience working in schools, specifically as a paraprofessional providing one-on-one support. You’ll collaborate with specialized educators, contributing to a positive, adaptive learning environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Associate degree or at least 48 semester hours of coursework (required; official transcript or diploma must be included in application)
• Previous experience as a paraprofessional, teaching assistant, or in a related school support role
• Confidence assisting students with visual impairments, adapting materials and classroom activities as needed
• Familiarity with IEPs, individualized instruction, and school policies regarding accommodations
• Strong organizational and communication skills, plus patience and empathy when supporting student development

Position Details & Responsibilities:

• Full-time contract running August 13, 2026, to August 21, 2027, Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours weekly
• Work 1:1 with a visually impaired student, providing academic, mobility, and classroom assistance under the guidance of certified teachers and service providers
• Support the student’s participation in learning, adapting instructional materials (such as large print or tactile materials)
• Encourage social interaction and promote an inclusive learning environment
• Facilitate safe navigation within the school setting throughout the day
