Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and screenings to evaluate clients' mental health and emotional needs, developing personalized treatment plans based on these evaluations.

• Provide individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques that align with clinical best practices.

• Facilitate therapy sessions that may include grief support, coping strategies, and mental health education tailored to the unique challenges faced by hospice clients.

• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and social workers, to integrate mental health care into the overall treatment plan.

• Engage with clients’ families, offering guidance and support to foster understanding and involvement in the treatment and recovery processes.

• Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA and ethical standards, ensuring comprehensive record-keeping of client interactions and treatment outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily serve clients receiving hospice care, many of whom experience complex emotional responses related to terminal illnesses. Your approach will cater to individuals dealing with grief, loss, and transitions, providing them with vital coping strategies and emotional support in a sensitive manner.

Qualifications\n

• A valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).

• A Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Health, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree or higher is preferred.

• Demonstrated experience and/or specialized training in mental health counseling, particularly within a hospice or palliative care context.

• Strong foundation in evidence-based practices for various mental health disorders and an understanding of grief and loss counseling.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and rapport-building with clients and team members alike.

• At least two years of professional experience in mental health counseling, preferably in a healthcare or hospice setting.
