Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations and assessments for clients in a hospice setting, identifying needs and developing personalized treatment plans.

• Provide individual and group therapy focusing on grief counseling, loss acceptance, and emotional resilience.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions that address both anticipatory grief and emotional distress associated with terminal illnesses.

• Work collaboratively with a team of healthcare providers, including physicians and hospice aides, to ensure holistic care is delivered to clients.

• Facilitate therapeutic support groups for family members, aiding them in processing grief and providing coping strategies.

• Offer crisis intervention when necessary, ensuring that clients receive immediate support during moments of acute distress.

• Document all clinical encounters and maintain accurate records in compliance with HIPAA and other relevant legal standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on clients receiving hospice care, which includes individuals facing end-of-life challenges. This role not only demands a deep understanding of mental health but also a sensitive approach to spirituality and family dynamics during this critical time. You will assist clients in processing complex emotions and support families through educational resources and therapeutic support.

Qualifications\n

• A current and valid license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or equivalent qualification.

• A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field, with preference given to candidates holding a Master's Degree.

• Demonstrated understanding of mental health disorders and treatment modalities pertinent to palliative care.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex emotional topics with clarity and empathy.

• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and electronic documentation best practices.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a mental health counseling role, preferably within a healthcare or hospice setting.

Compensation and Benefits\n
