Larson Counseling Center is actively seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to enhance our integrated outpatient care team in Miami, Florida. This is a full-time, remote position that focuses on delivering exceptional mental health services, particularly for individuals facing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Work Environment\n

This role provides the flexibility of remote work while ensuring that you are part of a cohesive and collaborative environment. While our standard working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, occasional evening hours may be necessary based on client appointments. You will engage in virtual sessions and collaborate with your peers via telecommunication tools that facilitate communication and case management.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments assessing clients' mental health and substance use needs, identifying co-occurring disorders through detailed interviews and standardized evaluation tools.

• Collaborate with clients to develop tailored treatment plans that meet their unique needs, combining evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing techniques.
\n
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at fostering coping strategies, relapse prevention techniques, and emotional regulation, equipping clients with the skills necessary for sustainable recovery.

• Work in conjunction with interdisciplinary team members—psychiatrists, addiction specialists, and nurses—to ensure a cohesive treatment approach that integrates mental health and substance use recovery.

• Monitor clients’ substance use through regular assessments and implement motivational interviewing methods to inspire positive change throughout their recovery journey.
\n
• Educate clients and their families on the complex interplay between mental health and substance use disorders, emphasizing the importance of continued participation in treatment regimens.

• Maintain meticulous documentation of treatment progress, interventions, and referrals, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards.

• Participate actively in case conferences, team meetings, and continuing education to further develop your expertise in treating co-occurring disorders.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Larson Counseling Center, you will primarily serve individuals grappling with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Our client population is diverse, encompassing varying ages, backgrounds, and personal struggles. You will assist them in navigating the complexities of their conditions, promoting recovery and resilience.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or Doctoral Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW , LMHC , or LMFT in the state of Florida.
\n
• Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic practices tailored for individuals experiencing co-occurring disorders, including Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT).
\n
• A robust understanding of the interrelationship between mental health and substance use disorders.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration within an interdisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working within an outpatient integrated healthcare setting is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote therapy modalities.

• A history of working with diverse populations and a strong cultural competence.
