Work Environment\n

This role is fully remote, allowing you to provide vital mental health services from anywhere. While you will primarily be working independently, our team-oriented culture ensures you receive support from fellow counselors and administrative staff. With a structured work schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, we also value flexibility to accommodate patient needs, ensuring quality care is always the priority.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify the unique needs of patients, developing individualized treatment plans aimed at promoting mental health stability.

• Utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to provide effective individual and group therapy sessions.
\n
• Facilitate engaging psychoeducational groups designed to disseminate information on mental health topics and create a sense of community among participants.
\n
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
\n
• Provide crisis intervention services, equipping patients with strategies to effectively manage immediate challenges.
\n
• Offer education on mental health conditions, treatment pathways, and resources available within the community to support holistic care.
\n
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
\n
• Participate in weekly case consultations and team meetings to discuss patient progress and share insights to enhance therapeutic practices.

• Stay informed on the latest research and trends in mental health therapy, continually enhancing your therapeutic skills and knowledge.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Life Wave Counseling Center, you will primarily support adults and adolescents grappling with a spectrum of mental health issues. Our holistic approach means you will work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, each facing unique challenges, reinforcing the need for personalized care. Your role will be vital in offering these individuals the tools and support necessary to achieve their mental health goals.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.
\n
• Deep understanding of mental health disorders and experience with evidence-based therapeutic approaches.

• Proven ability to create and execute individualized treatment plans.
\n
• Experience in delivering both individual and group therapy sessions is highly desirable.
\n
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, fostering trusting relationships with clients.
\n
• Strong ethical judgment and a commitment to maintaining professional boundaries.

• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems is an advantage.

Compensation and Benefits\n
