Essential Job Functions What does a Senior Clerk do?
- Answers questions that require searching for and abstracting technical data; provides detailed explanations of laws, policies, and procedures; reviews non-routine applications, calculates and collects variable fees and other amounts due; and refers unusual inquiries to his immediate supervisor.
- Reviews documents for accuracy, validity, and compliance with legal or other requirements where the application of highly specialized knowledge and the resolution of debatable points are required.
- Calculates values, fees, etc., using highly specialized knowledge of policies and procedures for document recording, property assessment, and tax collection.
- Reviews , records, and maintains time records for employees in a given organizational segment of a County department.
- Provides interpretations of County codes, policies and MOU provisions related to payroll where a highly-specialized knowledge of payroll timekeeping practices and application is essential (the more complex interpretations are made by higher-level payroll staff.)
