Orthopedic Physical Therapist - Full-Time

Work Environment

This position entails working directly in patients' homes, requiring a flexible and adaptive mindset. The therapist will interact daily with clients in a variety of home environments, promoting independence and functional mobility. Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Directing physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, relieving pain, and restoring optimal muscle function.
• Conducting comprehensive evaluations of clients' functional abilities through diagnostic testing, including muscle, nerve, joint assessments, and functional evaluations.
• Administering a variety of therapeutic exercises, both manual and non-manual, while providing instruction and motivation to patients during functional activities.
• Applying modalities such as traction and massage to alleviate pain and improve mobility.
• Evaluating, fitting, and adjusting orthotic and prosthetic devices, and collaborating with physicians for necessary modifications.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position focuses on treating adult clients primarily with orthopedic conditions, including post-operative rehabilitation and chronic pain management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate empathy and a deep understanding of the physical and emotional challenges faced by patients in recovery.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree or a Master's Degree/Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• An active state license as a Physical Therapist in Florida.
• At least two years of relevant experience, particularly in orthopedic and outpatient settings.
• Strong clinical skills in orthopedic assessments, treatment planning, and implementation of evidence-based practices.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a proven ability to build rapport with patients and healthcare providers.
• Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems for effective documentation and care coordination.

Preferred Experience

Experience in geriatric care, sports rehabilitation, or acute care settings is a plus. Familiarity with innovative therapy techniques and methods to improve patient engagement and outcomes will be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
