Job Opportunity – Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM; 36 or 48-hour contracts available; every other weekend required

• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 on a 41-bed Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication dispensing and SBAR communication protocols

• Floating to other units as needed; first-time travelers welcome

Requirements:

• Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical Telemetry experience
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Required skills: blood product administration, heparin and IV insulin protocols, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, non-invasive airway management, PCA, peripheral line care, titration of insulin drips, wound care/wound vac
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information:

• Contract staff will be assigned to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters
• Navy scrubs required
• Up to 7 days of pre-approved time off available (excluding holidays); must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Requested time off after booking is not permitted
• Pre-start online modules required (approximately 8-10 hours, completed using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge)
• All compliance testing must be completed within 48 hours after signing
