Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital located in Corpus Christi, Texas. This facility provides a collaborative and dynamic environment where physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals work in unison to deliver quality orthopaedic care. The Orthopaedic Surgery department is equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical technologies, supporting a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Our work hours are Monday to Friday, allowing for a balanced work-life experience with no weekend obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care to individuals with orthopaedic conditions under the supervision of qualified physicians, including diagnostic, therapeutic, procedural, and preventative care.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering necessary lab tests or imaging studies.
• Interpret radiology reports and laboratory results to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Write prescriptions, manage treatment plans, and order therapies tailored to each patient’s specific needs.
• Assist in surgical procedures, providing direct support during complex operations, under the supervision of the attending orthopaedic surgeon.
• Manage patient care across the spectrum of orthopaedic services, encompassing inpatient care, outpatient consultations, pre-procedural evaluations, and post-operative follow-ups.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant will primarily serve patients experiencing musculoskeletal issues, ranging from sports injuries to chronic pain conditions. Our patient population includes a diverse group of individuals, from active athletes to seniors seeking mobility support. The emphasis on patient-centered care ensures that your clinical interventions significantly impact their quality of life and recovery journey.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree or PhD from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant in Texas.
• National certification as a Physician Assistant is mandatory.
• A DEA certificate must be obtained within three months of hire.
• A minimum of one year of recent clinical experience in Orthopaedic specialty care is required.

Preferred Experience

• Demonstrated clinical experience in managing urgent orthopaedic referrals and conducting wound care.
• Ability to assist in surgical procedures and perform tasks under direct supervision of attending orthopaedic surgeons.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and orthopaedic clinical workflows.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time role offers a competitive salary range of USD 120,000 to 160,000 annually, which may include performance-based bonuses.
