Overview The Department of Pediatrics at the University of California San Diego is committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body. The Division of Genetics in the Department of Pediatrics at UCSD and Rady Children’s Hospital – San Diego is currently seeking to expand the Medical Genetics and Biochemical Genetics team. We are seeking applications from physicians or physician‑scientists to fill the following positions: Positions Clinical Geneticist Metabolic Geneticist Clinical Director The Division is actively involved in clinical care, research, teaching, and service. Our program sees more than 4,000 patients per year in a variety of clinics, which are primarily outpatient at Rady Children’s Hospital‑San Diego, a top ten U.S. News & World Report‑ranked Children’s Hospital. We also see patients at the UCSD Medical Center, throughout Southern California, and in Mexico. Responsibilities Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, patient care, inpatient consults, outpatient genetic clinics, and multidisciplinary team settings. Obligations also involve teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and continued scholarly contributions to clinical, translational, developmental, and/or basic research. In the case of the Clinical Director position, responsibilities additionally involve clinical leadership, oversight of divisional budgets, quality improvement activities, and direction for members of the Division. Clinical activities may reflect the candidate’s specific interest as well as the general genetics program. The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience. Appointments may require self‑funding.
