This role will operate primarily in a remote setting, although professionals will engage directly with students and staff within the school district. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to evaluate students' mental health status, identifying their strengths, challenges, and needs.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), tailored to the unique situations of each student.

• Collaborate with a team of educators, psychiatrists, school nurses, and other support professionals to design and provide coordinated care that promotes student well-being.

• Educate students and their families on mental health diagnoses, treatment options, coping strategies, and medication management.
\n
• Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions that incorporate evidence-based approaches, fostering open communication and healing.

• Develop and implement detailed treatment plans in collaboration with the treatment team, emphasizing patient goals and preferences to guide interventions.

• Assist students in navigating the complex mental health system, advocating for their rights, and ensuring they receive appropriate services and support.

• Organize and lead therapeutic support groups, psychoeducational workshops, and discharge planning meetings, focusing on empowering students and their families.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary client population includes students of varying ages within the school setting, presenting with an array of mental health challenges ranging from anxiety and depression to emotional disturbances. You will work collaboratively with the school community to ensure that students have the resources and support needed to thrive academically and socially.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program is required.

• Active, unencumbered state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Connecticut.

• Demonstrated knowledge of mental health disorders, evidenced therapeutic techniques, and crisis intervention practices.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
