Rapid Response Respiratory Therapist - FT Nights - Jefferson Hwy

Job Overview Provide respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support services to both in‑patients and out‑patients ranging in age from neonatal to geriatric. Monitor and wean patients on oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation, collect, analyze and report arterial blood gases and EKGs, and deliver intermittent therapy. Assist with changing artificial airways and perform services as ordered by a physician in accordance with established policies and procedures. Responsibilities Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure. Review and document all clinical information regarding each patient. Educate patients and co‑workers on procedures and treatment plans. Perform diagnostic procedures. Provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to the age of patient served in assigned area. Maintain professional certifications and up‑to‑date knowledge of technical procedures. Attend staff meetings and other related duties as required. Remain knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensure compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards. Qualifications Education: Associate's degree (or equivalent). Work experience: None required. Certifications: Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice; Certified Respiratory Therapist (National Board of Respiratory Care); Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) for NICU workers; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) to be obtained within 90 days of hire. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Computer skills for data entry and retrieval of patient information; proficiency with Windows‑style applications and keyboard. Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals. Strong analytical skills. Strong interpersonal skills.
