Work Environment

In this role, you will be stationed onsite within a school, providing a unique opportunity to impact children's health directly. The work environment is collaborative, involving various healthcare professionals and school staff to create an integrated healthcare system focused on student well-being. You will utilize modern technological resources, including Electronic Health Records (EHR), to enhance patient interaction and streamline processes while maintaining compliance with policy regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough examinations of students, taking into account their medical history, symptoms, and physical findings to derive accurate diagnoses.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as complete blood counts (CBCs), electrocardiograms (EKGs), and x-rays to develop insight into patients' health conditions.
• Formulate and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual health care needs, while adhering to professional practice guidelines.
• Diagnose and manage acute health issues, including illnesses, infections, and injuries, ensuring timely and effective care.
• Prescribe medications judiciously, considering efficacy, safety, and cost, and develop a detailed medication regimen suited for each patient.
• Educate students and their families on self-management strategies for chronic conditions, adapting the guidance to their specific needs.
• Utilize EHR systems comprehensively to maintain up-to-date medical records and ensure information accuracy according to regulatory standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on students of all ages within the school system. Qualifications

• Current Nurse Practitioner certification issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
• A valid New York State license and current registration as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA); can be obtained during facility orientation.

Preferred Experience

While prior experience in pediatric care or within a school setting is highly valued, we also welcome candidates possessing strong clinical skills and a passion for working with children. Compensation and Benefits
