Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: West Chester, Ohio Pay Rate: $21.00$22.00 per hour Job Type: Contract-to-Hire Schedule: First Shift

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing organization in the West Chester area to hire an Accounts Payable Specialist. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional seeking a long-term position with the potential for permanent employment. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, experience handling invoice processing, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced accounting environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and process vendor invoices for payment
• Verify invoice information and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained
• Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents
• Process vendor payments through checks, ACH, and electronic payment methods
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding balances
• Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and account inquiries
• Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation for all transactions
• Assist with month-end activities, including account reconciliations and reporting
• Monitor aging reports and ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices
• Support the accounting department with administrative and financial projects
• Identify and resolve billing discrepancies while maintaining data accuracy

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of accounts payable, accounting support, or bookkeeping experience
• Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Experience in a high-volume invoice processing environment is preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required; accounting coursework is a plus
