Full-Time Nurse Practitioner in a School Setting

Position Overview

The Pathway Health NP Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner who will play a vital role in providing high-quality healthcare services in a school environment. Work Environment

In this role, you will work directly within a school facility that serves a diverse student population. This onsite setting provides a unique opportunity to engage with children and adolescents, identifying health concerns early and promoting wellness. Your collaboration will extend beyond the healthcare team to include educators, families, and school administration, ensuring a holistic approach to student health and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments for students, including physical exams, health histories, and developmental screenings.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans that align with the school environment and address the specific health needs of students.
• Provide health education and counseling to students, staff, and families regarding nutrition, physical activity, mental health, and disease prevention strategies.
• Manage acute health issues such as minor injuries and illnesses efficiently, utilizing established protocols and treatment guidelines.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address complex cases and coordinate care, ensuring continuity in health services.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation of patient encounters according to regulatory standards.
• Stay abreast of current public health trends and best practices relevant to school health.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on the school-age population, utilizing your expertise to support the physical and emotional well-being of children and adolescents. This includes addressing various health issues, from nutrition and fitness to mental health challenges, facilitating a supportive environment for academic success and personal development.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution is required.
• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner and an active New York State Nursing license.
• A minimum of three years of clinical experience, ideally in community health or public health settings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with diverse populations.
• A demonstrated commitment to social justice, health equity, and advocacy for vulnerable communities.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a school health program or with children and adolescents is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and school management software is a plus.
• Previous involvement in health education initiatives or community outreach programs.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $150,000 to $160,000 annually, reflective of experience and qualifications. In addition to a robust salary, our compensation package includes:
