Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in the home of clients or within our outpatient center, adapting modalities to meet the specific needs of each child.

• Develop specialized treatment plans that may include anger management techniques, coping skills training, and strategies to enhance social skills, ultimately reducing high-risk behaviors.

• Empower youth and caretakers by improving decision-making skills to navigate and manage complex in-home behavioral challenges effectively.

• Collaborate consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team and other multidisciplinary professionals, ensuring that comprehensive support is provided to youth and their families.

• Timely submission of all required documentation, including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, maintaining compliance with clinic protocols.

• Participate in monthly team meetings, contributing insights and recommendations based on clinical observations.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position primarily focuses on children and adolescents aged 3-20 who are experiencing developmental disabilities or intellectual challenges. Our work is characterized by a commitment to cultural competence, as we serve a diverse population. We are particularly interested in candidates who are bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese, enabling them to communicate effectively with a broader range of families.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is a must for this role.

• The ideal candidate must be available for at least 5-10 hours per week, particularly during after-school hours from 4-7 pm, with flexible weekend availability being a plus.

• All candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a registered vehicle.
\n
• Successful candidates are required to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

Preferred Experience\n

• Demonstrated experience in providing positive behavior support to children is highly preferred.

• Prior experience working with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities is a significant plus.
