Work Environment

This position requires you to work onsite in a dynamic hospital setting, providing you with direct access to various medical resources and a collaborative work culture. You will be part of a vibrant healthcare team that fosters professional development and encourages participation in continuing education programs. The anticipated schedule includes 3 to 4 days of work per week, with all weekends and holidays off—allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient evaluations by taking comprehensive medical histories, performing detailed physical examinations, and assessing symptoms to accurately diagnose dermatological conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, acne, and skin cancer.
• Design and execute individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique circumstances, ensuring optimal management of dermatological issues.
• Perform a variety of dermatological procedures confidently, including but not limited to bacterial, viral, and fungal cultures, biopsies (shave, punch, excisional), cryosurgery, desiccation and curettage, and intralesional and intramuscular injections.
• Educate patients on preventative care strategies, management of skin conditions, healthy skincare routines, and the importance of regular dermatological check-ups.
• Collaborate closely with the supervising board-certified dermatologist and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care.
• Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems to maintain organized and accurate patient information, ensuring strict compliance with coding and billing standards.
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress during treatment, making necessary adjustments to plans based on feedback and clinical outcomes.
• Engage actively in team meetings and professional development sessions to keep abreast of new technologies, treatments, and best practices in dermatology.
• Exhibit exceptional interpersonal skills, creating a warm and welcoming environment for patients, particularly for those who are underrepresented or lack sufficient medical knowledge.
• Handle a patient volume of approximately 20-30 patients daily in a fast-paced setting while ensuring high standards of care are consistently met.
• Uphold a high standard of ethics and professionalism, ensuring patient confidentiality is respected in all interactions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on adult and pediatric patients with diverse dermatological needs, including those from marginalized or medically underserved communities. You will play a critical role in addressing health disparities through effective communication and education.

Qualifications

• A valid state medical license and certification as a Physician Assistant.
• A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in dermatology or a relevant field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, complemented by excellent time management capabilities.
• Adeptness in using EMR systems to enhance workflow and ensure precise documentation.
• Proven ability to maintain a friendly demeanor while delivering care in a high-volume setting.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with performing a wide array of dermatological procedures, including the use of specialized dermatological tools and techniques.
• A proactive approach to continuous learning and pursuing additional certifications, such as Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT).

Compensation and Benefits
