SpringLeaf Physical Therapy & Wellness Center, located in Newark, New Jersey, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Full-Time Orthopedic Physical Therapist to enhance the recovery journeys of our patients. Our state-of-the-art 5,000 square foot facility is designed with cutting-edge sports medicine technology and equipment, which allows us to deliver exceptional care. We specialize in providing orthopedic outpatient services primarily covered by private medical insurance. Our mission is to empower patients by improving their quality of life through effective physical therapy.

Work Environment

This position is based onsite within our contemporary rehabilitation center, equipped with advanced therapeutic tools to assist in patient recovery. You will be part of a collaborative team comprised of two physical therapists and one physical therapy assistant (PTA). The work schedule runs Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing a consistent and manageable work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations to assess patient mobility, function, and rehabilitation goals, ensuring personalized care plans are designed for effective outcomes.
• Manage a patient load effectively, conducting therapy sessions for one patient every hour while maintaining high-quality patient engagement and care.
• Utilize a variety of treatment techniques and modalities, such as manual therapy, exercise regimens, and advanced therapeutic devices to enhance patient mobility.
• Prepare comprehensive care plans based on individual assessments and documentation, ensuring accurate treatment and progress tracking.
• Motivate and guide patients to promote their engagement in recovery and adherence to therapeutic programs.
• Monitor and document patient progress, making necessary adjustments to therapy plans in response to their evolving needs.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals when needed to provide a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
• Advocate for healthier lifestyle choices among patients by promoting balance, flexibility, strength, and coordination.
• Educate patients about their conditions, treatment options, and self-management strategies to enhance compliance and positive outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on orthopedic patients—those dealing with musculoskeletal conditions, post-operative recovery, and injury rehabilitation. As a physical therapist, your role will be crucial in guiding patients through their rehabilitation processes to help them achieve their personal fitness goals. Each interaction and treatment plan will be specifically designed to empower patients to lead more active and fulfilling lives.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) qualification accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
• Valid certification as a licensed Physical Therapist in New Jersey, with no history of board actions or disciplinary measures.
• Strong knowledge and demonstrable skills in orthopedic practices, particularly in outpatient settings.
• Competency in utilizing electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as WebPT to document patient information efficiently.
• Interest in continuing education and staying updated with the latest treatment methodologies in physical therapy.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a physical therapist, particularly in an outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation setting.
• Expertise in manual therapy techniques, enhancing the therapeutic options available for patient care.
• Experience with developing and implementing individualized exercise programs.

Compensation and Benefits
