A well-established college-preparatory private school in North Dallas is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its collaborative Business Office. This high-impact role offers ownership of the month-end close, financial reporting, and accounts receivable functions while working closely with leadership in a stable, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

• Lead the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Prepare monthly management reports and analyze budget-to-actual variances
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure strong internal controls

Accounts Receivable & Tuition Management

• Oversee tuition billing, collections, and account reconciliations
• Partner with internal departments to ensure accurate account setup and billing adjustments
• Monitor outstanding balances and assist with collection efforts
• Record fundraising and development-related accounting entries

Accounting Operations

• Review payroll and accounts payable reporting for accurate general ledger posting
• Assist with year-end audits, tax reporting, and financial compliance
• Support process improvements, reporting enhancements, and ongoing accounting initiatives
• Maintain organized financial records and documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation
• Solid understanding of general ledger and accounts receivable accounting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and communicate professionally with a variety of stakeholders

Preferred

• Experience in education or nonprofit accounting
• Familiarity with tuition management or student information systems
• Familiarity with Blackbaud (or the ability to learn quickly)
