Seeking a skilled and dedicated Certified School Nurse (CSN) or CSN student for a contract position serving Robert C. Hill Elementary School in a dynamic and supportive environment. Located near Naperville, IL, this opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student health within a collaborative setting of administrators and office staff. The nurse in this role will manage the health office, complete medical reviews, and play an integral part in IEP and 504 process management for the school.

Key qualifications and credentials:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with a Professional Educator License (PEL) endorsement specific to Certified School Nurse in Illinois (not just RN, LPN, or CNA status)
• Completion of or active enrollment in CSN coursework (typically 1-2 years required)
• Strong record of reliability, attendance, and commitment to the school-year calendar through late May 2027
• Technological proficiency: adept at electronic health record systems and digital documentation for IEP and 504 requirements
• Demonstrated initiative, ability to work independently, and a collaborative spirit
• Flexibility and willingness to assist with personal care (such as restroom support) as part of meeting all students’ health needs
• Previous CSN experience and bilingual Spanish-speaking abilities are highly desirable

Primary responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the school health office
• Conduct comprehensive medical reviews and provide documentation for student plans
• Actively participate in the health-related components of IEP and 504 processes
• Collaborate with educators, staff, and families to ensure seamless health services for students, including those with complex or personal care needs
• Uphold standards of professionalism, attendance, and teamwork
