As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional patient care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab, you will support cardiologists during invasive procedures involving the electrical system of the heart, including pacemakers and the treatment of dysrhythmias. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering healthcare education and helping to enhance the overall patient experience.A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. with on-call requirements.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in various healthcare settings.Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.Perform telephone triage and call rotations.Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications.Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.Educate patients and families.Cover other nursing roles in the department.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN program)Current state licensure as a Registered NurseBasic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red CrossAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification within 6 months of hireOne year of recent experience as an RNOR Licensed RN with at least 2 years of LPN experience within the same Cleveland Clinic procedural departmentPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:BSNTwo years of recent experience as an RNOne year of critical care experience in a hospital settingMed/Surg, ICU or ED experiencePhysical Requirements:Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.The policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
