This role is designed for a telehealth format, allowing you to conduct therapy sessions remotely. You will connect with clients via a secure video conferencing platform, enabling effective and intimate interactions that resemble traditional face-to-face counseling. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial assessments and develop detailed mental health evaluations through client interviews, ensuring accuracy in documenting case histories from the first consultation through to treatment conclusion.

• Create and implement personalized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups, demonstrating your expertise in evidence-based interventions.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing various therapeutic modalities to engage clients in their healing journeys.
\n
• Monitor and assess client progress against established treatment goals, modifying strategies as necessary to promote optimal outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and medical professionals, to create unified intervention strategies that enhance the level of care and support.

• Maintain constant communication with clients, including follow-ups with those hospitalized or in urgent care situations, to ensure continuity of support and care.

• Identify and address behaviors that may hinder recovery, empowering clients through education and resources that promote resilience and growth.

• Support primary caregivers and family members by providing guidance and resources to help them manage their loved ones' mental health challenges effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Westside Counseling Services, you will serve a diverse client population, including adults, children, and families experiencing a range of mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. Our goal is to provide culturally competent care tailored to each individual's background and experiences.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
\n
• Current and valid licensure (e.g., LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, LCSW-C) in the state of Kansas.
\n
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) is required.
\n
• Strong foundational knowledge of mental health principles, theories, and therapeutic techniques.
\n
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, allowing for effective interaction with clients and interdisciplinary teams.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a naturally empathetic disposition.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience in a mental health counseling role, demonstrating clinical expertise in therapeutic practices.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, or similar platforms for client documentation and management.

• Experience handling clients with co-occurring disorders, including physical health issues and addiction.
\n
• Knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices.
\n
• An understanding of pharmacological treatments and their impact on mental health is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience, and includes a sign-on bonus.
