Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Description Location: New York, NY Pay Rate: $25.00 - $30 per hour Employment Type: Full-Time Cyperus Group is partnering with a well-respected nonprofit organization seeking an Accounting Associate, Accounts Payable to join its finance team. This role is ideal for an organized and detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and contributing to an organization with a meaningful mission. Responsibilities Maintain accurate accounts payable records, files, and supporting documentation. Assist with vendor and independent contractor setup, including W-9 management and classification. Support the preparation of annual 1099 and 1096 filings. Process accounts payable transactions, including voucher review, check preparation, and payment processing. Verify compliance with financial policies and procedures. Research and resolve vendor inquiries, discrepancies, and payment issues. Prepare documentation for alternative payment methods, including cashier's checks and bank drafts. Assist with reporting and other accounting-related projects as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Maximum 2 years of Accounts Payable experience. Basic accounting knowledge and understanding of AP processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Why Join?
