Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed behavioral health assessments to evaluate the needs of Black birthing families.

• Provide individualized counseling sessions aimed at improving mental health and overall well-being.

• Implement effective case management strategies to coordinate care and support for clients with complex needs.
\n
• Collaborate actively with prenatal care team members, including providing insights during interdisciplinary consultations to optimize the quality of integrated care.

• Co-facilitate engaging childbirth education workshops and postpartum peer support groups alongside trained birth workers.
\n
• Maintain accurate client records and documentation in compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
\n
• Participate in ongoing training and engagement activities designed to enhance service delivery and team collaboration.

• Perform additional duties as assigned that align with the organization’s mission and goals.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role specifically targets Black birthing families, an underserved population requiring tailored mental health support during and after pregnancy. You will take a holistic approach, addressing not only mental health issues but also the context of cultural and systemic factors affecting these families. Your work will directly impact the quality of care and emotional support available during critical phases of their lives.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
\n
• Active licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of California.

• Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on empathy and cultural competence to interact with a diverse client base and interdisciplinary team.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude towards seeking assistance and collaboration when necessary.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working with perinatal populations and an understanding of the unique challenges faced by birthing families.

• Familiarity with telehealth technologies, providing services to patients through virtual platforms.

• Previous involvement in community health initiatives or outreach programs aimed at enhancing mental health resources within underserved populations.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from USD 120,000 to 130,000 annually , determined by caseload and qualifications.
