Nurse Practitioner, Critical Care, Day Shift

Position Summary We are seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse to join the Float Pool within the Critical Care unit. This role involves integrating research, knowledge, and experience to deliver exceptional patient care and improve outcomes. The nurse will communicate effectively with the healthcare team, participate in discharge planning, and utilize resources appropriately. Flexibility, strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills are essential. Key Responsibilities Include Performing comprehensive history and physical exams, interpreting findings. Diagnosing and managing common clinical issues within the patient population. Planning, implementing, and evaluating treatment plans collaboratively. Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, communicating results to the team, patients, and families. Participating in discharge planning and documentation, including orders and progress notes. Engaging in patient rounds, interdisciplinary conferences, and educational activities. Providing health education and counseling to patients and families. Performing selected diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Contributing to staff education and maintaining professional development. Work Schedule 36 hours/week, day shifts only, every third weekend, no holiday coverage. Qualifications Master of Science in Nursing 3+ years of Critical Care Nurse Practitioner experience preferred Pediatric experience preferred Current Massachusetts NP license Certification as a Pediatric or Family Nurse Practitioner Additional Benefits Float APRNs receive an extra $10/hour for assignments within the Float Pool, with a competitive sign-on bonus based on experience.
