Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health.

• Document client progress and treatment interventions meticulously from the outset to the conclusion of every therapy journey.
\n
• Develop personalized intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring responsiveness to their evolving needs.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that encourage participation and feedback, using best practices in psychotherapy.
\n
• Regularly monitor and review client progress against treatment goals, adjusting plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, medical doctors, nurses, and social workers, to create integrated care plans.

• Provide timely follow-up with healthcare providers for clients requiring additional support due to hospital admissions or other medical interventions.

• Identify potential barriers to client recovery, leveraging evidence-based strategies to mitigate these challenges.

• Support family members and primary caregivers to navigate the complexities of mental health challenges associated with their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In your role as a mental health counselor, you will work with a diverse group of clients experiencing various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. Our clients reflect a wide range of cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, enabling you to enrich your experience and deepen your understanding of culturally competent care.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW in the state of Massachusetts.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

Preferred Experience\n

• Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor, particularly within community health settings.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, especially AVATAR, for documentation and case management.

• Experience addressing co-occurring physical and mental health conditions, as well as strategies for managing addiction disorders.

• Knowledge of American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and ethical guidelines.

• Robust understanding of psychotropic medications and their implications in mental health treatment.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that enhance the therapeutic relationship.
