About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for New Ventures in Asset Selection. The successful candidate will work closely with the Managing Director and the New Ventures team to identify and evaluate opportunities for company creation, with a focus on developing investment theses for drug acquisition targets within specific therapeutic areas. Key responsibilities include sourcing and maintaining a pipeline of novel drug development ideas, conducting in-depth proprietary research across various scientific and commercial verticals, and converting these ideas into new companies with successful profit and loss outcomes. The role demands a high level of expertise in the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors, with a strong preference for candidates holding an advanced degree in biological sciences. Applicants for the Vice President position must have a Bachelor's degree, with an advanced degree (MD or PhD) strongly preferred, and at least 5 years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical sector, particularly in a buy-side role. The role requires the ability to operate independently, an investor mindset, and a proven track record in producing research notes. The ideal candidate will have a background in life sciences, excellent communication skills, and a demonstrated tenacity in research and presentation. The position is based in New York and may involve some travel.
