This position is designed to be remote, allowing for flexibility in your work schedule while providing essential counseling services from the comfort of your home. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including psychiatrists, social workers, and fellow counselors, making use of electronic health record systems like AVATAR to streamline care and keep up-to-date records. This collaborative atmosphere ensures a comprehensive approach to client care, enhancing the treatment process.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through preliminary interviews, assessing clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health from the point of initial consultation to the conclusion of treatment.

• Develop and implement effective intervention and recovery plans tailored to the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that promote healing and foster a supportive therapeutic environment.
\n
• Monitor and document client progress throughout the treatment process, adjusting plans as necessary to meet evolving needs.
\n
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to create cohesive intervention strategies that benefit the client’s recovery.

• Identify potential barriers to recovery and work proactively to mitigate these challenges.
\n
• Assist family members and primary caregivers in supporting clients with mental health issues, providing guidance on effective management techniques.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our clients come from various backgrounds, each presenting distinct challenges related to mental health. The diverse nature of our patient population requires a counselor adept at navigating complex emotional and behavioral issues, including mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, and relationship challenges. You will work closely with clients to foster their personal growth and facilitate their journey towards improved mental wellness.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.
\n
• A minimum passing score in the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrated experience in mental health counseling with a track record of successful client outcomes.
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, for effective documentation and patient management.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience dealing with co-occurring physical and mental health conditions as well as addiction disorders.
\n
• Familiarity with the best practices as set forth by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• In-depth understanding of medication effects and implications as prescribed by medical specialists.
\n
• Strong interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.

• Empathy and a compassionate nature, essential for establishing rapport with clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We value the hard work of our counselors and offer a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, complemented by a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.
