This remote position offers the flexibility to work from home while maintaining a structured schedule. Our typical work hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts when patient needs require additional support. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments tailored to the unique challenges faced by older adults, considering cognitive, emotional, and social factors.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address each patient’s specific needs while integrating evidence-based practices in geriatric care.

• Facilitate individual and family therapy sessions, utilizing therapeutic modalities that have proven effective in treating depression, anxiety, and other geriatric psychiatric conditions.

• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including geriatric psychiatrists and healthcare providers, to deliver a holistic approach to patient care.

• Provide crisis intervention and immediate support for elderly patients experiencing mental health emergencies, ensuring their safety and well-being.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and available community resources to empower informed decision-making.

• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards while ensuring timely updates in our EHR system.

• Participate in regular team meetings, case consultations, and professional development to enhance knowledge in geriatric mental health practices.

• Stay current with recent research, best practices, and advancements in the field of geriatric psychiatry to continually improve patient care standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will focus primarily on the geriatric population, addressing a range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, dementia-related disorders, and adjustment issues. Our clinic values the importance of understanding the specific cultural, social, and medical factors that affect our elderly patients’ mental health, which requires sensitivity and a patient-centered approach in every interaction.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Illinois.

• Minimum of two years of post-licensure experience working in mental health therapy, preferably with an emphasis on geriatric populations.

• In-depth understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities.

• Strong interpersonal and intrapersonal skills, able to effectively communicate and empathize with elderly patients and their families.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard computer applications to manage patient information efficiently.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to shared goals and collaborative treatment plans.

Compensation and Benefits\n
