Opening multiple schools on consistent timelines with increasing efficiency is rare. 2 Hour Learning is establishing a nationwide network of schools built around a model that condenses a traditional school day into two concentrated hours through AI technology. For this approach to scale effectively, expansion must be executed with the same precision as the educational product. This role is designed to ensure that outcome. You will manage the complete lifecycle of new school sites—from initial location evaluation through full operational readiness—while constructing the frameworks that make every future opening faster, more efficient, and more reliable. This is not a conventional development position. You are not being hired simply to oversee projects. You are being hired to remove obstacles from the expansion process. That requires making decisive judgments on site feasibility, engaging directly with permitting and construction challenges, managing vendor negotiations, and maintaining aggressive schedule adherence. Simultaneously, you will deconstruct each phase of this process into systematic, AI-enabled workflows that minimize manual intervention and enhance forecasting precision over time. What You Will Be Doing Evaluate and approve high-stakes site opportunities by assessing zoning compliance, permitting pathways, cost structures, and timeline viability through systematic and AI-supported analysis Manage multiple concurrent school construction projects, directing construction managers, clearing obstacles, and delivering on-schedule, on-budget completions Create comprehensive, actionable capital project proposals that bring stakeholders into alignment on scope, budget, and implementation approach Oversee vendor qualification, RFP processes, and contract negotiations with emphasis on execution speed, deliverable quality, and financial discipline Break down expansion processes into discrete operational components and implement AI-enhanced systems that reduce cycle times and increase outcome reliability What You Won’t Be Doing Operating as a hands-off project monitor dependent on status reports from contractors or external partners Focusing on a single project phase (e.g., site selection or construction only) without accountability for the complete result Depending on unstructured, one-off methods that require reinvention at each new site Routing issues upward without engaging directly to solve permitting, design, or construction obstacles Consuming extended periods on stakeholder alignment without pushing toward definitive decisions VP of Construction Key Responsibilities Lead the complete expansion process for new school locations by delivering fully functional campuses on reliable schedules while systematically decreasing delivery time, project cost, and execution risk through AI-enabled operational systems. Basic Requirements Demonstrated experience directing at least one complete real estate development or construction initiative from site evaluation through operational launch with comprehensive ownership Track record managing multiple simultaneous construction or capital projects with direct accountability for schedule adherence, coordination, and problem resolution Deep working knowledge of zoning regulations, permitting procedures, construction processes, and vendor management, with capability to interact directly with general contractors, architects, and regulatory agencies Proven capacity to make informed tradeoff decisions balancing cost, schedule, and feasibility with documented, quantifiable results Experience refining or designing complex operational processes (e.g., permitting workflows, design coordination, construction delivery) Proven ability to decompose intricate workflows into systematic, repeatable frameworks and enhance them iteratively Track record leveraging technology (AI or other tools) to minimize manual tasks, expedite decisions, or enhance execution velocity Strong ownership orientation with ability to function effectively in ambiguous environments and produce tangible outcomes Willingness and capacity to travel up to 60% to operational school sites nationwide and maintain on-site presence during pivotal development and launch phases Currently based in the United States and authorized to work without requiring visa sponsorship Nice-to-have Requirements Experience scaling multi-location development or expansion initiatives Demonstrated success improving forecast precision and compressing delivery schedules across multiple projects About 2 Hour Learning Education is broken, but 2 Hour Learning is proving it doesn’t have to be. Working with us This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
