Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Wausau, Wisconsin. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/12/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) Wausau, WI. This position involves providing specialized care in a fast-paced intermediate cardiac stepdown unit. The RN will manage a patient load across a variety of conditions, including post-operative cardiac procedures, arrhythmias, and cardiovascular disorders, with an emphasis on high-quality patient outcomes. Job Details Shift Schedule: 12-hour days, from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with a minimum of 48 hours per week. Required Qualifications: WI RN License, BLS, and ACLS certifications; ability to pass an EKG test in the first week of hire; at least one year of recent cardiac experience (including Cardiac stepdown, ICU, or intermediate care) and two years of IMC/PCU/Telemetry experience; experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips; recent EPIC charting experience of at least one year; associate degree or certificate required; bachelor's degree preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree. Float: Float rotation may be required. Additional Information: The unit is a 44-bed cardiac stepdown specializing in post-operative cardiac care, arrhythmias, CHF, and other acute cardiac conditions. RN candidates should be resilient, proactive, and capable of managing change independently. During flu season, unvaccinated travelers are required to wear masks at all times.
